Default First drag race with a Duratec of sorts

Well I went to a small town strip last night. I had a great time. It was incredibly laid back. My only complaint is the lack of trying to match things up with other cars that appear to be competitive.

I made 2 runs in my 2013 Focus ST (2.0 Ecoboost in case you didnt know) and I raced a 2500 Dodge diesel then I raced an LS Camaro... Not cool

Anyway, 1st run was a .0894 reaction, not so hot but the lights were sooooooo slow I am not used to that. But I ran a 15.2 and smoked the diesel once I hit third gear. I think he ran a 16.1. Tire spin in 2nd with no traction control is unreal.

2nd run was .95 reaction (in pro solo with lights I usually hit .600 reaction so I have no idea why it was so bad) I ran a 14.8 however I got beat by about 10 cars by the camaro. I was half a car ahead till he hit 3rd gear then he was gone.

Ill post time slips later if anyone is interested. Car is bone stock and it def more made for the twisties. Its a stupendous car though.

I wanna see slips. a 14,8 with a stock focus sounds like is a pretty good time sseriously eric!

I do think the bad reaction time m ight be due because of curents cold wheater and even if you do some ,0100 react time on the drag strip it will still count as almost a full second.. thats what it did with my truck and a 2.4 60ft at least.. engine loves it but traction not that much,,,

My buddy just got one of those. I am impressed with that car, we have about 13 miles of twisty 2 lane on the way to work and it handles that. He got it loaded with about every option you can get and ran the price up to over 30k. it is a wounderfull and fun commuter but that kind of money just isn't in the cards for me at this time. If it was I'd probably go get one. I'll show him this thread and maybe I can talk him into taking it to the strip.

So does this mean you don't have the Mazdaspeed any more?

You are correct. 2 big reasons... My friend toasted the clutch (idiot) and it was getting up there in mileage and about to cost me a bunch of money. Great car, but this fits me better. You CANNOT get a better car for the money. Im just waiting for the quick seller comments to come flying in.

Its so much better of a car its unbelievable. It can make pretty big power too, but Im just gonna leave it alone. I auto cross the hell out of it though.

After some research, It looks like I was pretty slow. The general concensus is about 14.3 is avg ST drag time, if set up decent.
